Default user groups

User groups, also called flags, are bundles of permissions that are assigned to them. Users can be promoted to these groups to let them use the permissions in the group.

This page contains the default user groups in WikiTide. Some wikis may add or remove permissions from them, and some may remove some of them entirely. No wiki can delete a restricted user group or a global user group.

Local groups[edit | edit source]

Local groups only apply on a single wiki. Unlike global groups, these only work on one wiki.

Bureaucrats[edit | edit source]

Bureaucrats are the highest user group, and they can demote and promote administrators and interface administrators. They aren't affected by rate limits, can bypass spoofing checks in AntiSpoof, and can access ManageWiki.

They can't demote other bureaucrats by default. Only Stewards can do that. As they have a lot of power, you should only promote trusted users to this group. If you are a bureaucrat, you can request the demotion of other bureaucrats in the Steward requests as long as you have a reason to do so. (like bureaucrat or community consensus, resignation)

The bureaucrat does not give many administrative permissions by itself like deleting pages and blocking users. To do those, you must also be an administrator yourself.

Administrators[edit | edit source]

Administrators are the second-highest default user group and they can block users, delete and protect pages, and more administrative actions.

By default, only bureaucrats can promote users to administrators and administrators may not demote other administrators. They can promote users to autopatrolled, confirmed, or rollbacker.
